John Scherer, Clifton Park Historian, and his wife, Martha, live at 113 Vischer Ferry Road.  It’s a stately two story brick house of classic Federal architecture.  Before the advent of the USPS zip code and well before 9-1-1 emergency services this was known as the “Best House”, built by the Abraham Best family in 1815.

“You may live in a very fine home,” says John, “but I have the Best House.”
