Winter Festivities

The Town of Clifton Park celebrates their WinterFest February 6. Everything from youth ski races, tubing and sledding, winter hike opportunities, food truck catering to outhouse races. Plan your next “socially distanced” trip to the epicenter of the Mohawk Towpath Byway this weekend.

Starting on Wednesday and running through the weekend is a no contact ski orienteering event at Garnsey Park, Rexford. It’s an event much like a treasure hunt with a detailed map of the Park. Register here.

At 9 AM there are sign ups for youth cross country ski races starting at 10 AM at Garnsey Park.

At Noon at the Clifton Park Common the Shenendehowa Rotary is holding their Fifth Annual Outhouse Race among some fantastic catering truck possibilities.

Riverview Orchards at 666 Riverview Road, Rexford will have tubing and snow saucer hill open Between 10 AM and 4 PM; S’mores by the bonfire for a buck; and chili or chowder, hot cider, donuts, or a pie for very reasonable prices.

The Vischer Ferry Preserve at will be the sight for some adventures into nature and history of remnants of Erie Canal history.

And not too far from the Preserve in the heart of the historic hamlet the Vischer Ferry General Store is having special activities and Rollin’ Smoke BBQ truck, live owls and more for Winterfest.

Full details are available in the Town of Clifton Park’s flier.

Mark your calendar now for the next family moonlight ski on Thursday, February 25 at 7 PM at the Clutes Dry Dock entrance to the preserve (weather and snow conditions permitting!)!
