It is interesting how one day can become so significant in one’s life. For some it’s a birthday, for others it is a day of celebration like an anniversary of a life changing event, or a date that marks a change in career.

For the mohawk Towpath Byway it is the day we became one of America’s Byways: September 22, 2005. Just 14 years later on September 22, 2019 the President signed the reauthorization of the national scenic byway program.

Others may have a “day of infamy” but on the Mohawk Towpath Byway our day seems to be September 22.
