It’s spring and we are off and running with events almost every weekend along the Mohawk Towpath Byway.  Check the schedule and calendar under the “events” tab of the home page.  Clifton Park will be celebrating Open Space and Historic preservation May 5 through Mother’s Day with many activities in the Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve.  cohoes Hosts it Mastodon Run a celebrated 15 K run that winds through every park and recreational venue in the City.  Truly a fun way to start off your running season.

There will be an Apple Blossom Festival on Saturday, May 13 centered around Riverview Orchard in Rexford with plenty of activities from hayrides, folk dancers, live music, an ice cream eating contest and much more.

The following weekend is the Canal Festival in Waterford Harbor and Niska-days near the other end of the Byway.  Bring the family and your camera to experience the Byway.

As you travel the Byway check out the self guided cell phone based tour of many of the sites, recreational venues and other points of interest along the Byway corridor.  Step out of the car and dial 649-9990 and enjoy a narrative by one of our fellow residents and satisfy your curiosity about the Mohawk Towpath Byway.
