Come on out and join us as we explore the recreational opportunities within the Mohawk Towpath Byway on Saturday, August 28.

Start at 9 AM at the entrance to Colonie Town Park on Schermerhorn Road.  The ride will explore many historic and recreational opportunities along the Byway.  Points of interest include river valley vistas, the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers, 19th century Erie and Champlain Canal features, current-day canal facilities, Falls View Park in Cohoes and Waterford’s harbor area.  Byway volunteers will provide commentary and interpretation at refreshment stops where ride participants regroup.

The ride is over 36 miles, at a planned 12 to 15 MPH pace.

A high tech, long sleeve tee shirt will be available for a donation of $20 or more to the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway Coalition, Inc.
